About

I’m a book-obsessed twentysomething with a B.A. in writing who works in a science-based field. I don’t get to talk enough about bookish things in my day-to-day life, so I love that I’ve been able to connect with more readers through blogging and Instagram.

My favorite type of books are unique books; I love creativity in writing, whether that means a unique concept, writing structure, or character. I read a lot of science fiction and fantasy in all their iterations (magical realism, speculative fiction, dystopian fiction, etc) but I also read from a variety of genres including realistic fiction, YA, and nonfiction. Favorite authors include Margaret Atwood, Octavia Butler, Jose Saramago, N.K. Jemisin, Roxane Gay, Ilona Andrews, and Jeff Vandermeer. I absolutely love getting book recommendations and finding new ways to branch out in my reading.

  1. Hello there! My name is Aya, and I am a fellow book blogger/lover at ablessedbrownie.wordpress.com. I was wondering if you’d be interested in participating in a small project that I am doing. I wanted to ask a bunch of bloggers (49, to be exact :p), to give me one of their favorite book quotes. I’m going to compile them all in one post and then post it on my blog on the 22nd of this month. It’d be fantastic if you were to be a part of this. Just let me know by this Sunday, please, so that I have plenty of time to compile and/or ask someone else. Thank you!
P.S. You are the 32nd one to be asked!

      1. Great! 😀 Just send me a quote either from a book, or about a book. You can just respond back here with it, or you could leave it on the Introduction page of my blog.

      2. This is one of my all-time favorite book quotes, from Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood:
“How did this happen? their descendants will ask, stumbling upon the evidence, the ruins. The ruinous evidence. Who made these things? Who lived in them? Who destroyed them?…Perhaps they’ll say, These things are not real. They are phantasmagoria. They were made by dreams, and now that no one is dreaming them any longer they are crumbling away.”

  2. I swear to God this is unique. Can I interest you in my audiobook? It’s about a struggling artist who gets a lifetime commission, but discovers his perfect patron has ulterior motives. It’s very different, it’s very fun, it’s very free. My wordpress site has all the details.

  4. INITIAL ARC EMAIL TEMPLATE

Subject: Exclusive ARC of Callasandra Fractured—A YA Dystopian Thriller for Your Review!

    Dear Emmy,

I hope you’re doing well! My name is Stephanie Douglas, and I’m the author of Callasandra Fractured, a YA dystopian thriller filled with coded messages, fractured dimensions, and a resistance group fighting to save the world.

Originally published in 2018, Callasandra Fractured never had the chance to reach a wide audience due to a family crisis that required my full attention. Now, with a new cover and enhanced content, I’m excited to relaunch this gripping story and give it the spotlight it truly deserves. And I’d love for you to be part of that journey.

    A Glimpse Into Callasandra Fractured:

Sixteen-year-old Cassi Dyson thought she had a normal life—until the day her world shattered. In a sudden, terrifying moment, two men seize her father right in front of her. Before they drag him away, he shouts a coded message to her—the warning changes everything. Soon after, a dimensional fracture scatters Cassi—and all of Earth’s citizens—across dimensions.

Separated from her family, Cassi awakens alone in Cimerrion, a world where the government sees her as a threat, where every move is watched, and any misstep could mean capture—or worse. Not knowing who to trust, she adopts a new name—Callasandra—but even that may not be enough to keep her safe. Assigned to The Camp, a monitored sector where sixteen-year-olds are trained, Cassi must blend in to survive.

When Joren, a charismatic and quick-witted fellow student, sees through her disguise, he brings her to the covert resistance known as the Antistasi. Desperate to find her family, Cassi turns to them for help and learns that survival means more than just concealing her identity—it means playing a dangerous game where trust is scarce, deception is everywhere, and escape may not be an option.

If you’re interested in reviewing Callasandra Fractured, I’d love to send you an ARC! The book is available in both PDF and EPUB formats and officially launches on May 21st. I’d be thrilled to have your review go up after the release.

The book is 472 pages long, and I believe it will resonate with readers who enjoy dystopian themes and high-stakes adventure.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to help bring Callasandra Fractured to a wider audience. I look forward to hearing from you!

    Warm regards,

    Stephanie Douglas

  5. Hello!  Glad to meet you! I write books for children and teenagers. And I would be happy to show you my latest one, The Book of Kindness. https://booksirens.com/book/U5E0E0K/PJXWN03 First of all, your opinion is very important to me and I would be grateful only for it. If you suddenly like it and agree to make a review. I will be really happy! It may seem arrogant, but I’ve heard that a person needs to knock and then the doors will definitely open.  I believe in it. Thank you in advance. And anyway, I’m glad to meet you!
